Summary of the changes to the Fund:

  • The geographic parameters of the Fund's investment universe will be expanded to allow the Fund to make investments in both emerging and developed markets in the Asia Pacific region (excluding Japan)
  • Investments will include securities of issuers that have their registered office or carry out a predominant proportion of their activity in the Asia Pacific region , including but not limited to, Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand
  • The index currently used as the performance benchmark for the Fund will be changed from the S&P Asia Pacific Ex-Japan SmallCap Index to the geographically broader-based MSCI AC Asia Pacific ex Japan Small Cap Index
  • To reflect the broader investment scope, the Fund's name will be changed to AXA Rosenberg All Country Asia Pacific Ex-Japan Small Cap Alpha

Investors should note that investment in emerging markets may involve increased risks and special considerations not typically associated with investment in more developed markets, such as liquidity risks, currency risks/control, political and economic uncertainties, legal and taxation risks, settlement risks, custody risk and the likelihood of a high degree of volatility.

Do investors need to do anything?

Only if they are not happy with the changes. If this is the case they can choose to switch into an alternative fund available to their policy at any time by either completing and returning a Fund switch instruction form, or if registered for switching on our Online Service Centre, by conducting a switch online. For Oracle, Paragon, Quantum and Quantum Malaysia policyholders, all switches are free of any switch charge.

We have issued letters to any Oracle, Paragon, Quantum and Quantum Malaysia policyholders affected by these changes. Where an investment adviser is appointed, they will receive our notification instead of the policyholder. Servicing financial advisers attached to these policies will receive a copy of the letter for their information.
