Removal from Preference - BGF Japan Small & Midcap Opportunities

The fund is now closed to further investment, including top-ups and and switches-in, to Preference policyholders.

Due to lack of the demand from investors, RL360 has taken the decision to remove BGF Japan Small & Midcap Opportunities A2 Acc USD (the “Closing Fund”) from the Preference fund range with effect 11 January 2023. Further investment into the Closing Fund, including top-ups and switches-in, will cease to be accepted with effect from 5 October 2022.

Action required by policyholders with existing holdings in the Closing Fund

We have selected an alternative fund within the Preference range that holdings will be switched into automatically on 9 January 2023, as shown in the table below.

# Fund not available to Hong Kong policyholders.

If policyholders are happy with the choice of Receiving Fund, they do not need to do anything.

However, policyholders are free to switch their existing holdings in the Closing Fund to any other available fund in the Preference range, free of charge.  If we don't receive alternative instructions before 6 January 2023, we will automatically switch holdings into the selected Receiving Fund on 9 January 2023.

Please refer to the relevant sample letter opposite for comparison details of the Closing Fund and the Receiving Fund.

Note for Hong Kong policyholders

* The underlying fund corresponding to the Receiving Fund (the "Default Investment Option") is the BlackRock Global Funds – US Dollar Reserve Fund, which is a money market fund denominated in the same currency as the Closing Fund. The Receiving Fund has been selected because we do not have any alternative funds ('investment options') in the Hong Kong Preference range which are of similar investment objective and policy to the Closing Fund. The Receiving Fund has the lowest level of risk from the other available investment options. Please note that as the Receiving Fund is a money market fund, whereas the Closing Fund is an equity fund, the risk/reward profile is not the same therefore the potential returns of the Receiving Fund will be very different.
